Morris, Haynes & Hornsby attorneys Larry Morris and Clay Hornsby were named by Alabama Super Lawyers magazine as two of the top attorneys in Alabama for 2010. Only five percent of the lawyers in the state are named by Super Lawyers. In addition, Morris, Haynes & Hornsby attorney Todd Wheeles was named by the magazine as a Rising Star for 2010. No more than 2.5% of lawyers in the state are named to this list.

Congratulations to Morris, Haynes & Hornsby attorney Tommy James for his success in two oral arguments, one before the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals and the other in front of the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals.

The firm would like to congratulate Candace Nichols, paralegal to attorney Tommy James, on the birth of her beautiful baby boy, Will, in September.

The firm would like to congratulate Kathy Fox, legal assistant to partner Randy Haynes, on the birth of her beautiful baby boy, Benjamin, in April.

Morris,Haynes & Hornsby sponsored the Annual Social Event/Membership Drive of the Solo Practitioner’s Division of the Birmingham Bar. The event was held on April 16, 2009 and was a huge success! This photo from the event was featured in the Birmingham News:

Morris, Haynes & Hornsby is pleased to present the three newest members of our team: Candace Nichols, Hanlon Gilliland and Iralyn Franklin.
Candace Nichols was hired in January of this year as legal assistant to attorney Tommy James in our Birmingham office. She and Mr. James primarily handle cases where children, the elderly, the mentally ill and those with special needs have been seriously injured or killed as the result of abuse or neglect. Mrs. Nichols was previously employed at the law firm of Engel, Hairson, and Johanson.
Hanlon Gilliland has joined Morris, Haynes & Hornsby as legal assistant to partner Randy Haynes. She is based out of the Alexander City office. Ms. Gilliland has previously worked for East Alabama Medical Center and Healthsouth Corporation. She is a graduate of Auburn University.
Iralyn Franklin has joined the firm as Marketing Director. She will be based out of the firm’s Birmingham office, but will head marketing efforts for the firm’s Alexander City office as well. Ms. Franklin’s marketing background includes internships at Talladega Superspeedway and the Bruno Event Team.
