Morris Haynes is proud to announce that associate attorney Kynsley Rae Blasingame has accepted a federal judicial clerkship. From January 2025 until August 2026, Kynsley will serve as a judicial term clerk for a federal judge in the Northern District of Alabama. During her clerkship, she will analyze, research, and write about issues arising under and related to state and federal law.
Kynsley is a native of New Site, Alabama. She first started as a runner with Morris Haynes after graduating high school in 2017, pursuing her interest in law. Kynsley notes, “During my first summer, even as a runner, I witnessed how Morris Haynes’s attorneys’ reputations in the legal community as some of the most knowledgeable and diligent practitioners was well-deserved. The pride and devotion each attorney and the entire staff exhibited was infectious and only furthered my interest in becoming an attorney.”
Blasingame graduated summa cum laude from Troy University as a member of Phi Mu Fraternity and Omicron Delta Kappa. As a student-athlete, she played softball for four years and earned a letter each year at Troy University. In 2021, Troy University named Kynsley its Most Outstanding Woman and nominated her for NCAA Woman of the Year.
In 2021, she began Cumberland School of Law, where she was a member of Cumberland Law Review. Blasingame also served as Junior Editor and Student Materials Editor during her tenure on Law Review. While at Cumberland, Kynsley worked with Morris Haynes as a law clerk, working alongside Morris Haynes’ skilled attorneys to further develop her legal skills. In 2024, Kynsley earned her Juris Doctor and gained admission to the Alabama State Bar Association.
This federal judicial clerkship will mark yet another honor for Blasingame, who appreciates “how special of an opportunity this is for which I am extremely grateful.” She continues, “I could not have achieved this without the excellent education I received at Horseshoe Bend, Troy University, and Cumberland Law, nor without the guidance of my mentors and co-workers at Morris Haynes. I am excited for what lies ahead and grateful for the opportunities I have had.”
Blasingame will return to practice with Morris Haynes upon completing her clerkship, bringing with her practical knowledge, invaluable experience, and sharpened legal insight. While we will miss Kynsley, we congratulate her on this accomplishment, wish her the best during her clerkship, and look forward to welcoming her back in 2026!
