NEWSWEEK – Judy Price had been walking her dog on a ridge above the Rio Grande the night she got shot with her own gun. It was two days before Thanksgiving 2009, and as she and her Samoyed set off through her Albuquerque, New Mexico, neighborhood, she carried her semi-automatic pistol in a holster strapped against her belly. Price, a concealed carry license-holder, had purchased it for protection and toted it on church security patrols too.
