On July 22, 2016, a federal judge signed the final order in the Carter v Taurus lawsuit settlement. Taurus, a firearm manufacturer, agreed to recall nine handgun models with alleged defects. These alleged defects can cause inadvertent firing when dropped even with the safety on.
