Matt Garmon is a partner in the Birmingham office of Morris Haynes. Born and raised in Cullman County, Alabama, near Smith Lake, Matt graduated from The University of Alabama with degrees in economics and business. He then earned his Juris Doctor degree at Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law where he was a member of Cumberland’s Herbert Peterson National Trial Team.
Since joining the firm, Matt has been privileged to represent individuals who have suffered catastrophic injuries or the families of those who have lost loved ones in wrongful death cases through no fault of their own. In that capacity, he has represented people and their families against some of the largest insurance companies, manufacturers, corporations, and trucking companies in America. These cases have involved legal claims against firearms manufacturers, ride-share companies like Uber and Lyft, large national trucking companies, and a host of other defendants whose reckless and negligent decisions have harmed others. To date, Matt has helped recover more than $20,700,000 for the individuals and families represented by Morris Haynes.
Matt is admitted to practice in both Alabama and Florida, but regularly handles civil wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases throughout the United States. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar, Florida State Bar, Birmingham Bar Association, Alabama Association for Justice, and American Association for Justice.
